EU AI Act Article 6: is your AI agent high-risk?
A system is high-risk under Article 6 either because it is a safety component of a product covered by listed Union harmonisation legislation, or because it falls in one of the Annex III areas (for example employment, education, essential services, law enforcement, migration). A provider who considers an Annex III system not high-risk must document that assessment before placing it on the market.
Agents make classification harder
The same agent can be a general assistant on Monday and screen CVs on Tuesday. Classification follows intended purpose and actual use, so record what the agent really did, not only what the brief said.
Evidence to keep
The written assessment, dated and versioned. Alongside it, run records showing which tools and data the agent touched; they let you check the assessment against reality later.
Gaps to state honestly
A ledger cannot classify a system. It gives you facts to support a classification made by someone accountable for it.
How Vetro helps
Vetro writes every model call, tool call and policy decision to a hash-chained, ed25519-signed ledger that anyone can verify with the public key. Vetro Attest verifies a ledger or OTLP GenAI trace for free and, for 49 USD, issues a counter-signed report mapping the evidence to the EU AI Act, including an explicit list of what the log cannot show. This is technical evidence, not legal advice.
